Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor shows off story trailer, will also appear at Comic-Con

More On: Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

For me, the so-called "Nemesis system" has been the most interesting part of the marketing hype for Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor.  AI is probably the least changed aspect of modern videogames versus older ones and anything that can fundamentally change it and make AI truly "next-gen" is going to be far better for videogames in the long run than better graphics.

If the Nemesis system lives up to the hype, it will craft a game world where every enemy is an individual, every time you kill one it changes the game world fundamentally, and no game session is the same because of it.  It may sound simple, but it really sticks with me as being a big deal and something to really look forward to.

Today's Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor news is that the game will appear at Comic-Con on Friday, July 25 and will focus on the Nemesis System and how it affects storytelling.

Also today is a new behind-the-scenes trailer featuring Troy Baker, who voices lead character Talion, and Christian Cantamessa.
