Harmonix's Kickstarter to fund a new version of Amplitude is starting to pick up some momentum as the game has seen a large surge in donations over the last few days. The last few days have seen nearly $200,000 in donations flood in, including a large donation from the team over at Insomniac games.
This is good news as the game is still $208,000 short of its funding goal and it's going to be close since there's just over two days left. If you want to see what the big deal is be sure to watch the Kickstarter video and read our review of the original game.
My biggest concern about the Kickstarter was that as a Harmonix "passion project" the development team would be pulled away on other Harmonix projects but that fear was assuaged by John T Drake, the director of publishing and PR for Harmonix in this twitter conversation.
@chusemann Yup - that's the plan. (there's probably additional support from shared resource people who aren't 100% on the team as well!)

We'll be sure to keep you appraised of the situation but I imagine they will be popping champagne corks later this week.
