The team at Oxide Games has released Star Swarm, a non-playable demo/benchmarking tool of their new Nitrous engine which shows off some of what the engine can do (namely have thousands of units on screen). It's a pretty impressive demo, especially so if you have an AMD processor with the new mantel driver from AMD. I have a pretty hefty setup currently and my PC was slowed down to single digit frames per second for the last 20 seconds or so of the two minute demo.
