I can't tell if this cooking "sim" is satire or not

More On: Cook, Serve, Delicious!
It's called Cook, Serve, Delicious! and claims to be a hardcore cooking sim; however, when I think about whether or not I'm okay with hardcore cooking sims, my brain hurts.  I watched both videos for it and I feel like I'm being punk'd.  Maybe it's the hangover or maybe I'm having a stroke because I cannot wrap my brain around the visuals and their description as a "harcore restraunt sim."  Just typing it makes me dizzy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not disparaging the game or the hard work of it's creators, I'm just a little confused over the seeming disconnect between the visuals and the game's description.  I'm sure if you love games like Cooking Mama, then Cook, Serve, Delicious! is right up your alley.  Check out the videos and hopefully this all makes more sense to you than it does me.  You can buy and download it right now for PC on Gamersgate, Desure, and www.vertigogaming.net.

“Cook, Serve, Delicious!” Available Now - PC’s First Hardcore Cooking Sim!
Vertigo Gaming, creators of the Oil Blue, introduce a new take on the restaurant genre

ODESSA, Texas (October 11, 2012) - Vertigo Gaming is proud to announce that “Cook, Serve, Delicious!” is now available to purchase on PC via Gamersgate, Desura and www.vertigogaming.net, with a Mac version coming later this year.

“Cook, Serve, Delicious!” is a hardcore restaurant sim, one of the few in its genre that gives players total control over where they want to take their restaurant’s future. You’ll start with a few thousand dollars and 20 foods to choose from for your menu, as well as a host of restaurant equipment and a virtual email account that connects you to the people of SherriSoda Tower. Nearly everything is unlocked from the start of the game for you to purchase; this is your restaurant, and you must figure out the best strategy to get your business packed with satisfied customers. Can you prove your culinary skills?

“It surprises me how unwilling casual games are to challenge players these days,” said David Galindo, creator of the Oil Blue and “Cook, Serve, Delicious!” “I wanted to create a game that can be accessible to the casual player, but can also be enjoyed by the gamer who doesn’t mind a strong challenge.”

Key features include:

Obtain new stars and remodels for your restaurant as you complete goals on your way to the five-star restaurant class.
Participate in extra challenges including catering for office parties, being on the Iron Cook television show and joining a mysterious tournament.

Log into your virtual SherriSoda Tower email account, where you can read the latest from SherriSoda employees, make bets with Crazy Dave, go on dates via the “Cook4Luv” relationship service, fund projects via “clicknstart” and obtain rare items for your restaurant, book VIP reservations, monitor the weather for the next day, and lots more.

Buy new equipment upgrades for your restaurant, as well as buy and upgrade 20 different foods for your menu. Switch out foods from your menu as they become stale, create daily lunch specials and monitor your buzz with a detailed stats screen.
A demo for “Cook, Serve, Delicious!” is available at www.vertigogaming.net, as well as a launch trailer (http://youtu.be/w3V8tLmG3uU) and a Catering Challenge gameplay clip (http://youtu.be/MevF3SSrTMM). Come play the demo to see why “Cook, Serve, Delicious!” is a cut above the rest!
