In the new
podcast on CGW they talk about how if you buy
Battlefield 2142, it comes with a piece of paper detailing how the game installs some monitoring software to gather "anonymous" information such as IP address and surfing habits as well as other habits in order to provide information with ad companies to deliver you in game ads. You know this isn't going to be very kosher and these things should be voluntary. I don't know if you can turn it off or not (My guess is it's mandatory.) but this isn't going to be a very popular decision and I can see much backlash coming from this decision. Basically, EA's distributing spyware with
Battlefield 2142.
