More On: DiRT Showdown
DiRT Showdown seems to eschew the series's traditional rally sim aspects for a more arcade-y action racer that has more in common with Burnout than previous DiRT games.

This new trailer for DiRT Showdown is called "Boost for The Win," and shows off the game's crazy full-contact racing style.  Events include Domination, where you must set the fastest time for a given sector of the track, Eliminator, where the last place driver is eliminated after a set amount of time until only one remains, and Race Off where players can do anything to win.

DiRT Showdown will also offer split-screen multiplayer, eight-racer online races, quick fire party games and YouTube integration.

Nitrous Deployed, Jumps Hit and Rivals Slammed in Turbo-Charged New DiRT Showdown Video Now Playing at www.dirtgame.com

Los Angeles, Calif. – April 10, 2012 – Codemasters® today premiered “Boost For The Win”, the new gameplay video for DiRT® Showdown™ now playing at www.dirtgame.com.

The “Boost For The Win” video features the chaotic, full-contact, all-action racing set to star in DiRT Showdown.  On the streets, in the snow and through the dirt, buggies, saloons, muscle cars and more all go head-to-head in chaotic circuit races where drivers must charge ahead of the pack by any means necessary.

DiRT Showdown's range of racing events challenge players to negotiate jumps, pinch-points, tire-walls, barrels, and more in frenzied races where no holds are barred.  Racing events include Domination, where players must set the fastest time through sectors on the track, Eliminator, where last place drops out of the race when time runs out, and Race Off in which players must do whatever it takes to get over the line first.

To get in front and stay in front, drivers can use a rechargeable boost to sprint ahead of their rivals and slam opponents into obstacles, whether racing in career mode, eight-player online races or in two-player split-screen.

DiRT Showdown will be Codemasters’ most connected game ever – split-screen multiplayer, eight-player online racing, on and off-line quick-fire party games and YouTube integration all come as standard.  Players will also be able to issue ‘Showdown Challenges’ to compete with friends whether they are online or not.

Powered by the award-winning EGO Game Technology Platform, DiRT Showdown is the action-packed extension of the award-winning DiRT off-road racing series and is coming this May for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system and PC.
