Who doesn't like free stuff? If you raised your hand or said "yes" to yourself, then you probably need your head examined. Developer Meridian4 announced that free DLC is now available on Steam for their combat racing game Post Apocalyptic Mayhem. Included in this will be new vehicles and a new track to choose. Any time a developer releases free stuff for their fans is a good thing, we know this. Considering that we see numerous titles on consoles nickel and dime us for specific content such as uniforms, tracks, courses, etc., it's great to see someone who isn't interested in doing that and giving back to fans of their games.
Montreal, Quebec, Canada – June 14, 2011 – Offering gamers more options for unleashing motorized mayhem on the competition, Meridian4 today announced the first round of downloadable content (DLC) for
Post Apocalyptic Mayhem for the PC. Available for free on
Steam, all gamers can amp up their in-game garage with three new vehicles and then race them on a new death-defying figure eight track, both online and off.
“New content that is easily downloaded is a great way to grow our online community of players and ideal means in which to build a larger and more robust gameplay experience,” said Steve Milburn, Marketing Director of Meridian 4. “Our first DLC pack is completely free and underscores our commitment to our consumers and the game.”
The following new elements are all part of Meridian4 and developer Steel Monkeys’ first DLC offering for
Post Apocalyptic Mayhem:
New Vehicles -
§
Nucloid – based on an electric “smart” car with an ironic twist, the Nucloid prefers to draw its power from a nuclear reactor under the hood, rather than the standard electric charging station found at the homes of environmentalists;
§
The Veteran – assembled from parts found in various military scrap yards, The Veteran is a veritable road map of mechanical military history;
§
Kitty with Claws – don’t be fooled by her cutesy charms; those teddy bears explode and that perfume is the sweet smell of death;
New Track -
§
Death Area 8 – an insane figure eight track set in an old decrepit Oil Refinery, littered with metal parts, steel drums and huge flumes of smoke and flames, Death Area 8 is designed with more funnel areas to increase the destruction and mayhem.
In
