A
while back, we reported that BioWare was teaming up with DC Unlimited / Direct to produce a new line of Mass Effect figures. The figures were originally planned to launch alongside the initial release of
Mass Effect 2 back in early 2010 but have seen repeated delays which are still being experienced.
It seems as though the line of figures is being delayed once again, this time until April and the second wave of product appears to have been canceled all together. The initial and only line of replica action figures is now slated to be released on April 27, 2011. According to a BioWare spokesperson in a statement issued to Google, “Once we get the ME2 Action Figure shipped we will not be working with DC Direct again ... their handling of this issue has been extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to fans.”
What in the world happened there? These two companies were extremely excited to work with one another when the original announcement was struck and now it seems as if you can’t get them far enough apart. It is also worth noting that DC Direct has removed the pages from their website which previously highlighted the Mass Effect line.
Can’t we all just get along?
