As stated above the demo for Naruto Shippuden: Kizuna Drive is now available for the PSP from the Playstation Network. I'm not that big of a Naruto fan but I figured I'd check out the demo. Thus far it doesn't seem too bad but I'm left wondering if I missed something. I went through the first couple demo missions to get a feel for the controls then went into one of the other Free Missions the game gives you in the demo and once I got to what appeared to be a giant beaver I promptly got pounded by said beaver.
Actually, I really like the concept of a giant beaver trying to pound you into a pulp.
You can take up to four characters into each mission (and in fact, only four are available in the demo) and each has their own special attacks you can utilize (trust me, all Sakura was doing in the giant beaver battle was healing the crap out of the rest of the team). The controls don't feel too bad and I got the hang of them pretty quickly. I'll probably play more to see if I missed anything in more demo missions...plus I love fighting the giant beaver. Read on to check out the official press release.
Just a quick note that a free playable demo of NARUTO™ SHIPPUDEN™: Kizuna Drive is now available for download exclusively for the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system via the PlayStation®Network. In the demo, gamers will use a combination of melee and Justu attacks playing as Naruto, Sakura, Kakashi or Shikamaru to defeat a series of formidable challengers. NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Kizuna Drive will be available throughout North America on March 22, 2011.
Offering the most authentic team-based combat in the franchise, NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Kizuna Drive treats players to a roster of fan favorite characters, an original storyline, and a new multiplayer combat system. With two modes of play, everyone’s ninja prowess will be challenged. In Story Mode, journey with a band of NPCs through more than a dozen missions that wait to be conquered. In Free Mission Mode, build a ninja dream team to overcome daunting combat situations where up to four friends can fight together and perform special combo moves via ad hoc. Featuring a new Kizuna Drive Combat System, players can chain devastating attacks onto enemies as each teammate inflicts crippling damage one after another. Time attacks precisely to apply even more intense blows, but miss the mark and the damage will be reciprocated.
