The fighting game genre continues its strong comeback with a new announcement this week: BlazBlue is coming to the Nintendo 3DS.
BlazBlue Continuum Shift 2 for the Nintendo 3DS has been announced for release on March 31, 2011 in Japan, the same day the PlayStation Portable version will release.
The 3DS version of the game will include new features, new story mode scenarios, return of the Legion Mode from the previous PSP game, and an all-new Abyss mode. Early reports from Arc System Works indicate that the 3DS game will be identical to the PSP release. The early screenshots of the game, shown below, look pretty slick but I want to see the game in motion. The 3DS looks to be capable of displaying graphics on par with the PSP, which is a good thing. The BlazBlue series has been picking up some steam in North America as all of the recent games have been released for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, let’s hope that trend continues with the 3DS version of the game.
