EA continues to spread around the Pogo love with new Pogo Games app

Last month, we brought word that EA and Facebook
had hooked up and EA would be bringing the
Pogo brand to Facebook along with Playfish, Madden and others. Apparently, that was part of a broader strategy by the game publishing giant, as they announced yesterday that Pogo games would also be hitting the AppStore in the condensed form of the free Pogo Games App.
The app appears to follow the recent trend of creating a free shell app (called a “freemium” app) that is supported by advertising or allows for you to add additional content (like full games via in-app purchases.) Probably the coolest aspect of the Pogo Games App will be that it promises to “talk” between the online version of the game and the iOS version and allow rewards, leaderboards and challenges to be accessed in both versions.
