Epic Mickey straight up copied Disneyland!

Actually, that's not true at all.  However, the development team did get a lot of inspiration from the iconic theme park.  A new "Behind the Scenes" trailer was released today for Epic Mickey.  It managed to stir up more anticipation (in me) for the title than any previous media blast to date.  Warren Spector states that he wanted something that "recognizable but different, familiar but strange, funny but kind of sad."  Mission accomplished, good sir.  Mission accomplished.

Don't take my word for it - watch the video.  Does this make you more anxious to see the final product?  I'm almost to the point of pre-ordering this bad boy.

Disney Interactive Studios has just released the "Disneyland-Scape: Theme Park Inspirations" trailer for Disney Epic Mickey which shows locations that were used as inspiration for Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney's long forgotten characters and attractions.

Disney Epic Mickey - which launches on November 30th in North America - is an action-adventure platforming game being developed exclusively for the Wii console that sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey of creativity and discovery. As Mickey, the player is propelled into Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney's long forgotten characters and attractions, and is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey's path to becoming an epic hero.

Through the use of this unique paint and paint thinner, the key components of animation and Mickey's tools for impacting his world, players will have the ability to shape how the story unfolds as they discover the concept of "Playstyle Matters"- an innovative style of gameplay created by Disney Interactive Studios' Junction Point studio, led by industry luminary Warren Spector, where players creatively tackle different challenges in the world to explore all the possibilities and storylines - but with consequences for their chosen actions.
