Dragon Quest takes over the Nintendo World Store

More On: Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies
You know Nintendo is taking a launch seriously when they hold a party at their World Store in Times Square. This time it's Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies, with a launch event scheduled for 1PM EST tomorrow. Nintendo isn't turning a chunk of Manhattan into a beach paradise beset by hobos, like they did with Wii Sports Resort, but they'll still have plenty of demo kiosks set up around the store, a Dragon Quest ice cream truck (anyone notice Dragon Quest and Dairy Queen have the same initials?), and early copies of the game for sale. Even better, Dragon Quest series creator Yuji Horii will sign the games bought by the lucky first 30 customers.

Dragon Quest has never struck America with the phenomenon it enjoys it Japan, but Nintendo's giving the old college try to turn that around. I'm just glad that Nintendo is finally promoting some third party software.
