Seagate's going to be selling some hybrid drives in the near future that has a larger capacity than most SSD's with some of the performance benefits. The Seagate Momentus XT drive comes in 250GB, 320GB, and 500GB each with 4GB of NAND flash built in. With the flash, it will cache the commonly used programs so boot up, loading of games, and application performance can see some benefits.
I was able to test and alpha drive and found the 2.5" drive to be very quiet, cool, and offered some good performance boosts once you let the flash store some of the commonly used data after a few uses. It's definitely a winner from what I could tell with my short time with the drive and the prices aren't too bad for a 500GB which will run you around $155. I might pick some up to install in my laptops and my HTPC as a boot drive.

Today’s high-performance SSDs for mobile computing cost as much as 10 times more than hard disk drives of the same capacity, with the price of a 250GB SSD outstripping even the cost of many laptop PCs. ASUS has also announced that it will offer the Momentus XT drive as an upgrade option for its new Republic of Gamers (ROG) G73Jh notebook. The system is powered by an Intel i7 720Qm quad-core processor, 8GB of DDR3 memory, and DX11 capable ATI Radeon Mobility HD 5870.
