…And to celebrate, developer RedLynx is offering a discount. For the 1 million votes Trials HD received, RedLynx is offering an earlier game in the series, Trials 2 SE, for $1.99. I think this kind of developer outreach is great, it shows they appreciate their fandom. If you really enjoyed Trials HD then you’ll probably enjoy its predecessor too, so take advantage of the low price while you can.

April 7, 2010 — The fans have spoken, a million votes have been counted, and the results are in: Trials HD from RedLynx (redlynx.com) is the Best Overall Arcade Game on Xbox Live Arcade for 2009.
“We couldn’t be happier,” said Antti Ilvessuo, Creative Director of RedLynx. “This validates our philosophy of building games around a fun, core gameplay mechanic, and of course, a lot of hard work by our extraordinarily gifted teams. Of course, we also want to thank the fans who chose our game.”
Microsoft said that more that one million players voted in an Xbox Live Arcade poll over a period of several weeks, before giving RedLynx’s stunt bike game top honors. It was also named ‘Most Innovative Game’ in the same survey.
As a way of saying thanks to the gaming audience, RedLynx is lowering the price of an earlier game in the series, Trials 2 SE, to just $1.99 in the RedLynx store until April 14.
“Trials 2 SE on the PC is the forerunner, the game that inspired the major leaps forward in the series that became Trials HD,” said Tero Virtala, CEO of RedLynx. “Offering it at a deep discount is one way of saying thanks to all the fans that have embraced and supported Trials HD.”
The number of players currently on the game’s Leader Boards is rapidly approaching one million, or more than twice the population of RedLynx’s home base of Helsinki, the capital of Finland.
