KoFXIII proves 2D isn't dead...

 SNK made the announcement of a new KoF game earlier this month and held the big reveal of King of Fighters XIII yesterday in Japan. The game looks as gorgeous as any 2D fighter before it as SNK looks to be continuing with the same hand-drawn style that they used with KoFXII. The game itself will pick up where KoF 2003 left off storyline wise and conclude the Ash Crimson Saga. All of the characters from the previous game, including the console exclusives, will make the jump to XIII. Three new characters have already been announced as joining the roster and there appears to be room for 6 more in the character selection screen. The game launches this summer in Japanese arcades and will likely hit consoles later in the year.
