(Nasdaq: ATVI) has tapped world class film, comic book and musical talent to contribute their creative powers to its upcoming Marvel-inspired title, X-Men: The Official Game, the only game tied to Twentieth Century Fox and Marvel Studios’ upcoming film, “X-Men: The Last Stand.” Co-written by Zak Penn, co-screenwriter for the feature film, and legendary comic book writer, Chris Claremont, the game will immerse players in an original storyline that serves as a prelude to the upcoming movie. X-Men: The Official Game will feature a dynamic musical score created by leading sound company Womb Music, and Chance Thomas, renowned composer of King Kong, Lord of the Rings and Unreal videogames.
For the first time ever, X-Men: The Official Game will allow players to command the superpowers of three popular characters from the X-Men movie universe and immerse themselves in the roles of Wolverine, Nightcrawler, and Iceman as they traverse unique environments that showcase each character’s Super Hero abilities in an epic struggle to preserve mutant-kind.
X-Men: The Official Game is being developed by Z-Axis for the PlayStationÒ2 computer entertainment system and the XboxÔ and XboxÔ 360 video game systems from Microsoft. The Nintendo® GameCubeÔ version is being developed by Hypnos Entertainment; the Nintendo DSÔ version by Amaze Entertainment; the Game Boy® Advance version by Wayforward Technologies and Beenox Studios is developing the PC version.
