A douchebag, a goalie, and Alex Ovechkin walk into the NHL Retail store....
OK, so Chris Pronger is a great defenseman, but he's also a tool. I've loathed him since well... forever. Perhaps before that, in the womb. Anyways, he's one of the chosen players to be part of the NHL's marketing campaign for the Winter Classic, which this year, will be played across the street from my apartment. Seriously, in the new digs I can see Fenway when I walk out the back door of our building out into the street. Anyways, the marketing event for the Winter Classic (which I'm so going to) is the day before Alex Ovechkin, marketing wunderkind and cover athlete for NHL 2K10, will be ringing up a few lucky folks for their pre-order of NHL 2K10. And for an even luckier few, play them in the Wii version of the game. As a fan of NHL titles, I'd love to drive down to NYC and get in line, but with the wedding coming up, I dont have the jack to spend on such a spree right now. TO PARTICIPATE IN FAN EVENTS AT “NHL POWERED BY REEBOK” STORE
NEW YORK (September 3, 2009) - NHL stars Chris Pronger of the Philadelphia Flyers, Tim Thomas of the Boston Bruins and Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals will appear at the NHL Powered By Reebok store in New York City next week in anticipation of the upcoming NHL® season. Both events are open to the public and media.
On Tuesday, September 8, Pronger and Thomas will sit down with ESPN the Magazine’s EJ Hradek for a Q&A session discussing the upcoming NHL season and their thoughts on playing in the 2010 Bridgestone/NHL Winter Classic® on New Year’s Day at Fenway Park.
On Wednesday, September 9, Ovechkin will celebrate the launch of the highly-anticipated hockey title, NHL 2K10, by offering fans an exclusive opportunity to be among a select group to pre-order the video game directly from the cover athlete. The Capitals star will personally ring up a limited number of fans who pre-order NHL 2K10 and play against a number of pre-determined contest winners in the Nintendo Wii version of the game.
