The big news this weekend, at least for wrestling fans, is the
SmackDown vs Raw 2010 event being held in Los Angeles. I got to play the game last night with a whole bunch of video game journalists and the consensus is that the new SvR is much better than the last years. I was surprised at the number of hits and views the articles and videos have been getting since being posted last night/ this morning. There are more fans that I had expected, that's for sure, and after playing
SvR 2010 for the first time last night I just might become one of them. The new wrestling game has taking a cue from other games that give tools for player created content *cough*little big planet*cough* and
THQ and
Yukes have jam packed the game with a slew of different create-a options. The most impressive was a mode that will allow players to, essentially, control 2 whole years of WWE matches by designing the matches and creating dramatic scenes to build their own story to go along with them. This new mode plus the highlight reel, create a finisher, and a new revamped create a superstar modes from last year can all be shared on an online server and downloaded by anyone else with a copy of the game. Me and the guys from GamingRing.com stayed up late last night discussing these new features and their potential, and you can check out the podcast
HERE but be warned there is some mature language.
