Namco Offers a Twist on a Classic with Dig Dug REMIX
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Prepare your shovels and pumps; Dig Dug REMIX is now on iPhone and iPod touch. Namco Networks, a leading publisher and developer of mobile, iPhone and PC games for mass-market casual gamers, today announced the worldwide availability of Dig Dug REMIX for $5.99 through Apple’s App Store.
“Dig Dug fans can now play the original game they loved from the arcade as well as a supped-up version that’s packed with more pumping action and new power-ups,” said Jonathan Kromrey, general manager for Apple Games for Namco Networks. “The iPhone control schemes are easy to master and players are going to love the new challenges in the hundreds of levels of digging goodness.”
Dig Dug REMIX offers players 256 levels of the original arcade game and a REMIX version packed with features like boss battles and exciting power-up items. The famous enemies, “Pooka” and “Fygar,” return as players dig through dirt while destroying the enemies using an air pump and rocks.
In the REMIX version, players have access to six different power-ups as they play through 35 levels and beat five bosses; power-ups include:
• Enhanced Shovel – Improves digging speed.
• Drill – Improves digging speed and able to dig firm dirt.
• Barrier Balloon – Blocks loss of life by a falling/stampeding rock.
The classic and REMIX versions include two control modes: D-pad, and Flick. D-pad gives players a on-screen control pad while Flick mode allows players to control the digging action by swiping their finger across the screen. There are three difficulty settings and players can choose from normal or free play, allowing players to play previously cleared stages.
