With two months to go before
The BIGS 2 opens up its season, 2K Sports has been keeping a steady pulse of screenshots flowing out of the ballpark. The PS3 and 360 versions have shown highly-competent character models and picturesque settings, with players pitching, hitting, and diving for balls through the streets and in the arenas of Vegas, New York, St. Louis, and others.
But these screens for the Wii have notably chilled the splashy effects and wood-cracking fireworks. The player models are scaled down but still impressive-looking considering the platform (I guess?), although it's entertaining to stare into the arrow-straight rows of clones sitting in the stands. ("Okay, everyone! Today's the big game, and I want everyone --
everyone! -- in blue jeans and white or gray tees. I said!") And I especially like how the nunchuk is supposed to get people excited about swinging virtual bats, but their presence actually comes off more as a gentle apology: Sorry, dear fans, bBut we didn't want there to be any confusion as to why these don't fully resemble
everything else we've
put out up to this point.
