Wiring up an old home with Ethernet cable can be troublesome sometimes. My setup does make it a little harder and for streaming video I want a wire attachment rather than rely on wireless even though I have a 802.11n router and setup. We've seen some of these products before but D-Link's putting out one with a 200Mbps throughput. Well, it won't get 200Mbps but if it comes within 40% of that I'm happy. The PowerLine HD Ethernet Adapter Starter Kit comes with two wall plugs and can turn all your electrical outlets into a network connector. There's even encryption available with a push of a button so if you are connecting say a computer you can secure that line as opposed to having a console plugged in where you don't need any protection. For $139, it might not be a bad investment if you want to have network access in an area where it's hard or impossible to wire.

It also offers Quality of Service (QoS) support to help prioritize data and enable smooth video streaming and lag-free gaming.
