We swung by the Polk Audio suite at the Venetian on Saturday even though we had exclusively
gotten our hands on one of the big product announcements in the
SurroundBar SDA Instant Home Theater. However, the one thing I wanted to take a look at was another of the products announced at CES and that was the
PSi225 Wireless Subwoofer. The PSWi225 is a stand alone sub that can bee added to any existing home theater setup and is similar to the sub in the SB IHT, but bigger and with more bass. It is has a downward firing driver, 2.4 GHz and a 100w internal amp with a low frequency of 40Hz. The PSWi225 will have an MSRP of $399 when it hits retail.
The other product Polk debuted was the
OWM5 speaker. The OWM5 can be mounted virtually anywhere and features a slim, vertical cabinet design that houses a 1” dome tweeter and two 4.5” mid-bass drivers. The OWM5 will sell for $199 each and be available in March 2009. Take a look at the stock image photos after the break.
