Wii gets Munchy

Namco-Bandai has announced The Munchables, a kid-sounding adventure game for, you guessed it, the Wii.  Apparently you play as Chomper and Munchy, two heroes defending their planet by eating their enemies.  Supposedly you have to plump your characters up on the little bad guys before they are big enough to snack on the game's bosses.  I'm getting serious "Major League Eating" vibes from this one (and that's a very bad thing), but who knows, this one might turn out ok, like Katamari Damacy.  Maybe.

When the evil Don Onion and his band of menacing space pirates invade the planet of the peaceful Munchables, it’s up to brave heroes Chomper and Munchy to battle the vicious usurpers and return peace to their embattled land. As they devour foe after delicious foe, the determined champions grow in size and power, preparing them for more challenging opponents to consume until they become big and strong enough to confront the sinister Don Onion himself.

 

The Munchables is sure to whet the appetite with its tantalizingly addictive gameplay and lively, vibrant graphics. Players will eat their way through a smorgasbord of more than 150 scrumptious enemies and eight enemy bosses such as Brocco Lee, Space Shroom, Rice Baller and more! For added flavor, players can accessorize Chomper and Munchy with more than a dozen different customization options, team up with a friend in 2-player mode, or play the stages in a time-based reverse order in Mirror Mode.
