Ahh MOBAs. They're pretty hot these days. They can also earn a company a truckload of money. So, Warner Bros's is throwing their hat in the ring with a MOBA using DC characters.
Infinite Crisis, developed by Turbine, is a free to play MOBA which is headed to the PC this year. Turbine's going to be using traditional and variations of DC characters so expect some Multiverse versions of your favorite heroes and villains to fight with.
From the alpha screenshots, it doesn't look half bad. Now these are alpha, so there can be a lot of polish going in. It looks like there's going to be a big emphasis on the variations so there should be plenty of content for Turbine to churn out throughout the game's life cycle. I can't wait to see all the different types of the same characters out there.
I'm anxious to see the roster they have initially set up and I wonder what the micro-transactions will comprise of. I'm hoping it's just alternate costumes for the characters so it doesn't reward those that pay an advantage over others. About the only way to really do it right is to just have cosmetic changes that are purchasable for this type of game.
You can sign up to try and get in the beta now if you wish. I'm not a big MOBA person, but this is something that might push me into the genre.
