Double Fine Productions announced the 10 finalists from its Amnesia Fortnight 2014 competition. Leading up to Amnesia Fortnight 2014 (which is essentially now), Double Fine team members pitched ideas for video games, and you, the voting public, forked over one dollar to Humble Bundle and then picked your favorites. They only had 30 seconds to sell their idea, so those with good art or the most fully fleshed ideas took the podium.
Over at Humble Bundle, hosts of this zany little Double Fine developer-versus-developer scenario, the pool of hopefuls is reduced from 29 pitches down to the 10 finalists. Voting continues with these 10. They only want three by the end, and at the time of this writing, there's only a day and a half left.
I chose Steed, Mnemonic and Breach. All three made the finals. I can now attest that the unwashed masses have excellent taste. But let's see how those three game ideas fare by 6 a.m. Thursday morning. The alphabetic list of finalists is:
Also, Pendelton Ward, creator of the cartoon Adventure Time, will arrive at Double Fine either Wednesday or Thursday to find out results of which of his game pitches is going into production.
