One of the things missing from
Steam was the ability to initiate downloads when not by your computer. I would remote desktop into my machine before to start a download of an item if I wanted to have it ready by the time I got home. Well, that is now in the past as Steam will
let you start a download by logging into the website or on the mobile app.
The mobile app, introduced a few months ago, is a nice way to browse for games on the go. With the update that allows for download initiation, the app just got a whole lot better. If you're not using the mobile app, logging in the website will let you do that too.
I can't believe it's taken this long to get it, but at least we have it now. You know those great Steam sales coming up? For those that work, you'll be able to enjoy the game as soon as you get home now with this included feature.
