Recently announced Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition from Capcom will be supporting resolutions beyond the high definition standard of 1080p. When asked if the game will support resolutions beyond 1080p, such as 2560 by 1440, Capcom PR confirmed saying "the game does support these higher resolutions" and added "...the game is optimized for 1920x1280 and though higher resolutions are possible it depends on the individual's setup of course and we can not guarantee the performance."
This is a welcome relief to many gamers who've begun the upgrade from the standard 1080p to the higher 2560 by 1440 ultra high definition resolution, which is common on many newer 27-inch monitors. The higher resolution combined with the confirmed 60 framers per second should make for a great return point to previous players and even better introduction for gamers new to the title.
Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition will be available on February 27 through Steam.
