NCsoft unveiled new screenshots for its upcoming
Aion: The Tower of Eternity at PAX 08. The reason why these screenshots are so breathtaking should be obvious once you know that
Aion uses the CryTek Sandbox 1.0 Engine. While there are a few gorgeous screens featuring weather and environments, the majority offer a glimpse of the Asmodian right of Ascension. This is the time where a young Asmodian earns her wings.
If a bell rings every time an angel gets its wings, what happens when a fallen angel ascends? I somehow imagine sonorous bells tolling in the Great Temple of Pandaemonium as the newly ascended Daeva takes flight for the first time to do battle for control of Atreia. I can almost hear the Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique finale playing in the background. I hope to find out when the beta finally opens.
Until then, enjoy these screens of the Elyos and Asmodians as they prepare for aerial combat in the celestial war over a shattered world in
Aion: The Tower of Eternity.
