Lucasarts teased us on Friday about a special announcement and the news is fairly big as the company announced today that it is partnering with Steam to release a bunch of old school PC games on the service. Here's the first batch of games that they will be releasing this Wednesday on the service:
- Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis
- Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade: The Graphic Adventure
- LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventure
- LOOM
- Star Wars Battlefront II
- Star Wars Republic Commando
- Star Wars Starfighter
- The Dig
- Thrillville: Off the Rails
While I'm disappointed there's no
X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter or
Maniac Mansion on the list it is nice to see older games like
LOOM and the Indiana Jones game make the cut. The Lucasarts twitter
account does point out that this is the first batch of games so there's hope that we'll see many other gems from the Lucasarts vault make their way to the service
