Don’t expect to see actor Jerry Lambert, better known to the gaming world as Kevin Butler, in any video game ads for the foreseeable future.
Media Post is reporting that as a result of an out of court settlement in
Sony’s case against him, the actor has agreed to refraining from appearances in any video game advertisements for the next 2 years. After that period of time, he must clear any appearances with Sony first, so that they can ensure that his portrayals don’t infringe on the Kevin Butler trademark.
I really hate to see the character of Kevin Butler end up like this; Sony had a good thing going with the character and the related ad-campaigns, but that is all but over now. Perhaps he’ll be back in or after 2015...
