The original Crazy Climber, which was released in arcades back in the 80's, is one of my favorite videogames of all time. I spent many quarters at that machine at FunSpot and it's sad to me that the series hasn't really been seen or heard from that much in the states.
MonkeyPaw Games plans plans to change that as they plan on bringing Hyper Crazy Climber to the Playstation Network in Q1 2014. Hyper Crazy Climber was originally only released in Japan on the original Playstation and included new playable characters and more buildings to climb.
The game was originally planned to be fourth title in the Retro Rush event but some last minute legal issues caused the delay.
“We never want to hold back a game release, but in this case it was a necessary precaution,” said Ryan Olsen, PR Manager for MonkeyPaw Games. “We are working as fast as we can to clear up the last outstanding issues and bring this game to our fans.”
Hyper Crazy Climber will be available for PS3, PSP and PlayStation Vita for $5.99.
Personally, I cannot wait for this!
