More On: Magic the Gathering: Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012
Wizards of the Coast and Stainless Games have announced a new expansion for their recent release Magic: The Gathering- Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. The DLC will be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms on September 14, 2011 but attendees at PAX Prime will get to go hands on with the content a few weeks early.

Quite a few new features will be included in the expansion, including the following:
  • Three new decks, each playable.
  • Ability to take on the role of Archenemy: Players will now be able to assume the role of the Archenemy in this frantic multiplayer mode of the game.
  • 6 new single-player campaign levels
  • 11 new Archenemy campaign levels
  • 4 new Archenemy challenges
  • 4 additional card unlocks for all 13 decks
  • Sneak previews of 6 Innistrad cards: The next block of cards for the real-life CCG doesn’t launch until September 30 but players of DotP 2012 will be able to check out a couple of the new cards from the set early in the new expansion.
  • New Planeswalker: A new Planeswalker by the name of Ral Zarek is making his debut in DotP 2012 and they will be exclusive to the game.
  • New achievements and trophies
I just finished reviewing the game and it ranks up as one of my favorite titles of the year thus far. This is one expansion that I will definitely not hesitate to throw the money down for when it launches. You can check out a few screens of the new content below.
