Capcom is changing the guard at the top of the U.S. and European divisions. The company announced today that Kazuhiko Abe has been appointed CEO and President of Capcom U.S.A., Inc. and CE Europe, Ltd. Abe joined Capcom back in 2003 as a GM of Management Planning and has also served as CFO of Capcom Japan.
This is an interesting move IMO, because other than the seven years with Capcom, Abe’s experience has mostly been in the financial sector working with telecommunications, software and banking industries. Hopefully he won’t run the divisions like a bean counter and let them still have freedom to be creative.
