When you think of hockey video games you naturally think of the EA series. Sure they've had their rough years but they are the ones that really defined the genre and the games have become an integral part of our culture. They've even gotten into the movies as versions of the game have been featured in classic films like Swingers and Chasing Amy.
I got the chance to talk to EA 09 producer and former NHL player Dave Littman about the game yesterday. We were able to get some insight into how the NHL works with EA on the franchise, why they came out with a simplified control scheme for this years game, and where they see the AI going in the future. Some thanks to Ben Berry who helped come up with a majority of the questions for the interview
