Internet gaming sensation iRacing.com, the leading online motorsport simulator, is making its first ever appearance in Europe at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, when Autosport International opens to the public on 14-15 January 2012.
The US-based company, which launched in 2008, will have all its current cars loaded onto two state-of-the-art VRX simulators at the show, ready for visitors to put their driving skills to the test.
With an array of classic and current cars available to race, the simulator also offers the choice of 50 of the world’s most famous and challenging race circuits, from tackling the fearsome Spa-Francorchamps to driving the former home of the British Grand Prix, Brands Hatch. All these circuits have been precision-mapped down to the slightest bump.
Boasting over 30,000 members worldwide, including drivers Jacques Villeneuve, Juan-Pablo Montoya and Dale Earnhardt Jr., iRacing.com enables gamers around the world to race against each other online, in real-time.
The simulator features realistic car setup options and is used by more than half of the Indycar drivers, who all enjoy iRacing.com for both training and fun.
Kevin Bobbitt of iRacing.com said: “We are looking forward to showcasing our motorsport simulators at Autosport International and inviting visitors to drive a few laps.”
The online community for iRacing.com features events that mimic real-life races, like the prestigious Indianapolis 500, and achievements such as winning the event are recognised in level changes for the gamer.
