iBUYPOWER takes it's hardware very seriously. They usually are the first big player to offer a new chip or chipset. Sometimes leading edge is bleeding edge though, and iBUYPOWER waited to release the Intel Series-6 until the SATA issues were fixed. Now they are, and Series-6 based Chimera XLC and other systems have been released.
iBUYPOWER Announces Re-Launch of Systems With New Intel 6-series Chipsets
New systems include the latest revised chipsets that fix SATA issues
El Monte, CA – February 25, 2011 – iBUYPOWER, a leading innovator in gaming PCs, is excited to announce the availability of systems featuring ‘Sandy Bridge’ Intel 2nd Generation Core Processors, with new B3 revision Intel chipsets that fix the issues reported by Intel in late January. Systems with the revised Intel chipsets include iBUYPOWER’s flagship system, the Chimera XLC, and its scorching hot flame painted chassis and best in class cooling system. The Chimera utilizes a huge 240mm radiator a 200mm fan and five (5) 120mm fans to keep it cool despite its fiery exterior. The new motherboards used in these systems feature the B3 revision to address the SATA degradation issue that had previously prevented sales of the chipset.
“iBUYPOWER is committed to offering our customers systems that integrate the best components available,” said Darren Su, Executive Vice President of iBUYPOWER. “The early availability of revised chipsets in our systems is a feature we are proud to be able to offer our customers.”
In addition to being faster than any previous generation of processors, the Sandy Bridge CPUs offer improved overclockability. Customers can take full advantage of this feature with iBUYPOWER’s Power Drive Overclocking service. Gamers can choose from a Level 1 (10% faster), Level 2 (20% faster) or Level 3 (30% faster) CPU performance boost.
