Talk about a pleasant surprise! After being rumored for months, THQ has not only broken their silence, but have released an updated version of Technos’ classic Wrestlefest. The modern day WWE Wrestlefest is readily available for iOS owners on Apple’s iTunes App Store.
The new version of the game takes the classic look and feel of the arcade and blends in modern superstars and elements. In addition to classic stars from the original game such as Randy Savage and Jake “The Snake” Roberts, recent WWE alumni are included such as Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. These legends will face off against modern day superstars such as Randy Orton, John Cena, the Undertaker, and many more. THQ plans on supporting the game through a constant stream of DLC which will consist of numerous additional characters such as Shawn Michaels, Big Bossman, and CM Punk among others.
The game also incorporates a variety of modern era WWE-game modes such as the Road to Wrestlemania as well as multiple championships and modern day arenas. The game is available now for the iOS while XBLA, PSN, and other versions are being developed for release later this year.
You can check out the launch trailer for the game eblow and then head over to your iOS device and grab the game for $2.99 for the iPhone / iPod and $3.99 for the iPad.
