Just because Sega hasn’t announced plans to bring the recently released
Virtual On Force stateside doesn’t mean that you have to miss out. It was recently announced on the game’s
official blog that the title is region free and contains an option to convert everything to English text.
If you don’t know what that means, basically the game can be played on any Xbox 360 console regardless of its region of origin. Titles are traditionally “region locked" to consoles in the country / continent where they are marketed, much like the DVD’s. Interested gamers should head straight for their favorite import shops or sites without hesitation and get in on some classic mech-action. The region free status also applies to the Asian version of the game, which is a separate and often cheaper sku.
The game, which is currently an Xbox 360 exclusive, is an updated port of the 2001 arcade title of the same name. The enhanced console version of the game boasts additional features including additional modes and online gameplay.
