It looks as if Panasonic is canceling its plans to get back into the gaming console business as they have canceled the development of the previously announced
Jungle.
The Jungle was
first revealed back in October and was designed to be a portable gaming console for MMO players. The concept involved a small, netbook-styled device featuring a full, QWERTY keyboard, touchpad, D-pad, shoulder buttons, and an HDMI port which ran on a modified version of the Linux OS. Development of the device has reportedly been halted and the project canceled as a whole. Panasonic has cited “changes in the market” and a change in “strategic direction” as reasoning for the death of the device.
