SOTA Toys is preparing to celebrate their tenth anniversary in business. The company, which stands for
State of the Art Toys started up back in 2000 and has produced licensed statues and figures from television, music, movies, and video games since. Perhaps you saw some of their work in the stop animation commercial for Capcom's Tatsunoko vs. Capcom earlier this year. The figures that you saw in that commercial... that was their work.
In order to celebrate the ten year anniversary,
SOTA is currently working on a special edition Ryu statue that will be available this fall. This massive, 18-inch statue is about as high quality as they come. The details, the painting, and the "electronics" are everything a collector could ask for. Electronics you say? Well,
SOTA is keeping a lid on the details, but the statue is said to include some sort of electronic function. I guess that we will have to wait and see what that means... in the mean time though we can check out some early shots of the prototype that is currently in development, which already looks impressive.
