More On:
We’re back from the Thanksgiving holiday, so what are our plans? Don’t answer that. It’s pretty much a rhetorical question. More gaming. Although, I still partook in my fair share of gaming throughout the holiday vacation.
If you’re looking for that weekly dose of Nintendo downloads to see what’s up and what’s downloadable, now is that time.
I’ve bored myself to death with introductions of what game is on what system, so I’m going old school outlining style on you all instead.
WiiWare
If you read
Chad’s review on
Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 4 and are keen on checking it out for yourself, the opportunity is yours to be had. The game is now available for 1,000 Wii Points.
I can sum up
My Zoo with one word: Tamagotchi. Those little keychain games of disaster were quite popular when I was in elementary school, and I literally bought one as recently as 3 or so years ago for old time’s sake. Trust me, they lose their cuteness value after poo levels surpass normal patience threshold. Available for 500 Wii points
In
Copter Crisis you’re an elite Helicopter Rescue Squad member who must take on rescue missions around the Black Rock Canyon. This could be a potentially fun game with something more to do with the Wiimote rather than use it as a normal D-Pad controller. Available for 500 Wii Points
Finally,
Christmas Clix is your last downloadable Wii game. You didn’t think the holiday themed games were over, did you? Help Santa out by decorating trees and collecting packages. Available for 1,000 Wii Points.
DSiWare
John has
already given you the scoop on
Foto Face: The Face Stealer Strikes. You know those cardboard constructions that have a place for you to put your face in and laugh about how profoundly disfigured you look with a very muscular man’s body that hardly compliments your very feminine face? Or maybe it’s vice versa for you. Either way, it looks like EA decided to create a virtual representation of this idea in Foto Face. Available for 800 DSi Points.
The other three DSiWare games are of the puzzle genres.
Bookworm is word-centered, in which case you’ll rearrange letters to create words for points. Available for 500 DSi Points.
Master of Illusion Express: Mind Probe is the visual puzzle of the three where you’ll be able to perform magic tricks. Available for 200 DSi Points.
Of course, no list of puzzle games is complete without some form of number-related puzzle thrown in there. This time it’s
Sudoku Challenge! Although I do enjoy me some Sudoku, I’d like the record to show that that exclamation point does not belong to me. Hence its boldness. Available for 500 DSi Points.
Virtual Console
I have to say I’m a sucker for the Virtual Console updates in the weekly Nintendo downloads list.
This week Virtual Console gets
The Combatribes. In this game you’ll fight your way through my hometown, good ol’ NYC. Even more awesome is that your lives are represented by the classic “continues” that you can use a certain amount of before game over. No quarters needed, just 800 Wii Points.
The last of the Virtual Console, and the Nintendo downloads for this week is
Solomon’s Key. The game is an action/puzzle genre where you set out to find Solomon’s Key to rid the world of evil spirits. Destroy blocks on your way to finding the key while avoiding the evil spirits. Available for 600 Wii Points.
