New trailer for Ghostwire
Nintendo gave attendees of their media summit a scare the other day with a new teaser for
Ghostwire: Link to the Paranormal. That teaser is now up on the official
Ghostwire site for public viewing. I've liked the idea for the game ever since it was announced last year--augmented reality stuff is always intriguing--but I doubt any game could get me to drop my DS and run screaming from the room.
MAJESCO ENTERTAINMENT DEBUTS
'GHOSTWIRE: LINK TO THE PARANORMAL'
TEASER TRAILER AT NINTENDO'S MEDIA SUMMIT
EDISON, N.J., February 24, 2010 - On February 24th in San Francisco, attendees of Nintendo's exclusive Q1 Media Summit will witness the debut trailer for Ghostwire: Link to the Paranormal from Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: COOL), an innovative provider of video games for the mass market. Developed by A Different Game, Ghostwire is a powerful piece of software that bridges the gap between the real world and spirit worlds by transforming the Nintendo DSi™ into a portal to the astral plane. At the Media Summit, Majesco will premier the first trailer for this innovative augmented reality release scheduled to hit stores this Halloween.
In Ghostwire: Link to the Paranormal, players are challenged to find and capture apparitions trapped within their own environment by using the Nintendo DSi™ camera and ghost tuner to access alternative frequencies beyond the standard Wi-Fi range. Spirits, shadows and demons all have their own personalities, so finding and "solving" them depends on how developed your ghost hunting expertise is. Some spirits are shy. Some are evil. And some will only interact with you if you bring them something they want. What's more, factors like time of day and light levels will further challenge a player's ghost hunting abilities, but a range of upgradeable equipment is available in-game to help players of all skill levels communicate with the supernatural.
