Namco Bandai has revealed what is arguably the best looking Dragon Ball game ever... for the Japanese arcades. You will have to excuse me as I am on a little bit of a Dragon Ball kick after recently spending some time with Raging Blast 2 for the PlayStation 3, doing a review that will be making its way to the Gaming Nexus front page soon. Since getting attached to that game, all things Dragon Ball have started to catch my eye.
Dragon Ball Zenkai: Battle Royale was revealed in Japan last week and is a 2-on-2 tag team fighting game market for the Japanese arcade seen. The graphical style that is used by the game really caught my eye as this looks a lot more impressive than the commonly used cartoon style of most Dragon Ball games. In the new game, the characters and the backgrounds appear to be getting more of a 3D rendered look, which is a welcome addition in my book (though DB purists will likely feel differently).
The debut trailer for the game is shown below. While the game is currently only scheduled for an arcade release, I think that hoping for a console release isn’t too far out of the question. The tag team oriented, multiplayer gameplay seems like a perfect match for both the Xbox Live and PlayStation Network services. I guess time will tell...
