Want a Fermi card but can't afford what was out there? Well, you're in luck today as NVIDIA has announced the mid-range
GeForce GTX 460 video card giving you a more affordable Fermi solution.
The
GeForce GTX 460 comes clocked in at 675Mhz for the graphics and 1350Mhz for the processor. There are two forks of the card with the card holding 1GB of DDR5 memory clocked at 1800MHz containing a 256-bit memory interface while the 768MB version has the same memory clock speed but only a 192-bit channel. There are a total of 336 CUDA cores on the card as well.
Pricing isn't too bad with
various cards on Newegg.com coming in at around the $200 price tag. We don't have one to test but various reviews online have shown it to be a pretty great card for the price. It's shipping now so if you've been holding out for a more affordable NVIDIA card, here it is.
