More On: Katamari Damacy
Way back in the days of the Playstation 2, Namco Bandai dropped a very strange and quirky game on us that was fun, addictive, and very creepy.  Katamari Damacy has now had a couple of very successful sequels and, to continue upon the franchise's strength, will be releasing another title for the upcoming Vita.  While we don't have an official release date or any real information beyond the announcement of the title itself, fans of the game have to be excited to see it on the Vita's expected to be gorgeous OLED screen that has gamers hypnotized.
‘KATAMARI DAMACY®’ (working title) BRINGS THE JOY OF KATAMARI TO YOUR FINGERTIPS
- Scheduled for Release as a PlayStation®Vita system Title, One of Gaming’s Most Bizarre and Beloved Series Returns Bursting with New Tactile Twists and Turns -

SAN JOSE, Calif., September 15, 2011 – Katamari fans can breathe a sigh of relief as NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. shares the joyful news that Katamari Damacy®  (working title) is joining the illustrious ranks of PlayStation®Vita system titles. The game will use the console’s unique front touch screen and rear touch pad to bring fingertip control to the series for the first time.

Players will once again step into the shoes of the tireless Prince, tasked by the King of All Cosmos with rolling up ever more enormous balls of weird and wonderful junk.  As the Prince travels through the varied levels of gentle lunacy, each one resplendent on the vivid PS®Vita system OLED screen, he will find himself amassing all manner of items large and small, inanimate and very much alive, from humble little ants to the volcanic grandeur of Mount Fuji.

In Katamari Damacy (working title), the ever-growing ball of bits and bobs is controlled by touching the screen to roll it in any direction.  A completely new Katamari gameplay feature allows players to use the rear touch pad of the PS®Vita system to stretch the ball either horizontally or vertically to pick up more objects at once or squeeze through a narrow gap.  With a lot more details yet to be revealed, the Prince is already limbering up in the wings to bring a dose of irresistible Katamari oddness to the PS®Vita system.
