It was inevitable that the
Donkey Kong record would be broken. I even thought that with the popularity of The King of Kong movie, that someone else would do it. I'd still rather see Steve Wiebe be the holder though but maybe this will happen later on. Right now, Hank Chien is the world record holder and
Details has an interview with the current high score bearer.
Hank did get a shout out from Steve for being the new Donkey Kong king but hasn't heard from the person whose record he broke, Billy Mitchell. Hank played from three to six hours a day, not consecutive days, to break the record but it never affected his job or personal life. It's a nice little interview and it's kind of nice to see someone else hold the record for a bit. We'll see how long it lasts.
