Layoffs are a sad consequence of the nasty economy slump we're in right now, and not eve High Voltage Software is immune. According to
Shacknews, HVS just laid off 25 employees. I'm a little surprised by this considering they're still working on
Conduit 2 for a fall release, with
The Grinder hitting all three major platforms next year.
HVS also recently released
Tournament of Legends, a surprisingly solid fighting game for the Wii (review coming Friday). It's always a bummer to hear about staff cuts, and I wish the best of luck to the former HVS people who are now looking for jobs. HVS has some pretty talented and ambitious people, so I hope they land on their feet.
