So it looks like the
alarm bells over the
closing of Great Old Games were a bit premature as word has leaked out that the entire thing was a
PR stunt to draw attention to the re-launch of the site. The new site will be launching shortly and you'll be able to download all of your previous games as well as new additions from Hasbro and
Baldur's Gate.
I can see why they pulled the stunt off as it was a cheap way to generate some buzz for the new site but there's a part of me that feels like the company has burned a lot of the good will they've earned over the years since they launched.
