I'm not surprised about this news coming out as any news from Activision lately to try and grab more money from the consumer seems like the norm these days. Of course, it involves one of their biggest franchises which is sad to see as it's been one of my favorites for a while now.
Thomas Tippl, CFO of Activision,
hinted that in the future, there will be paid online components for Call of Duty. Don't know if it's an add-on for
Modern Warfare 2 or a brand new entity but he said that there is a demand from core gamers to pay for additional services.
Really? Let's get a show of hands from folks who want to pay for additional services? I consider myself a core gamer of the series and not once did I think that. Of course, I could be exception but any of you guys who are heavy into Call of Duty want to pay more for more services?
